A 1700s country hotel at the edge of Cairngorms National Park
Dining & Bar
The on-site restaurant serves Scottish dishes many of which use local ingredients, with meals that have drawn comparisons to Michelin-starred cooking. The bar stocks an award-winning selection of local gins and whiskies plus craft beers from the Cairngorms area. Breakfast includes porridge with whisky and options for vegan and gluten-free diets when requested.
Rooms & Building
The 18th-century structure has been expanded and modernised but retains original features such as open fires, stained-glass leaded windows and beamed ceilings. The 11 guest bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and Egyptian cotton sheets with many rooms offering views of the mountains or Loch Alvie. A top-floor room is available for solo guests, and multiple family bookings can have rooms opposite each other on their own floor.
Location & Activities
The hotel is set in the Cairngorms National Park with Loch Alvie a short walk away, and the Speyside Way footpath passing directly from the property to Aviemore in about 50 minutes. Cairngorm Mountain ski area is within driving distance, and Loch Insh offers watersports in the same area. Highland Wildlife Park and Rothiemurchus are also close by for day trips.
Pet-Friendly Policies
